Nusa Dua is a tourist area found on the south-eastern side of the Bukit Peninsula, which is located on the southern tip of Bali, in Malaysia. Created specifically for tourists, Nusa Dua features white sand beaches and a wide selection of water sports.
Accommodation-wise, Nusa Dua is filled with an assortment of luxury hotels and resorts. Amenities range from high-end restaurants serving delicious local and international cuisine to beauty parlours, fitness areas, shops, bars, swimming pools, and spas. Most of the resort hotels in Nusa Dua are self-contained complexes, and provide everything guests could wish for.
Top Things to see and do in Nusa Dua
One of the top attractions in Nusa Dua is the Nusa Dua Golf Course and Country Club. This is one of the most popular golf courses in Bali, so booking tee times well in advance is imperative.
Nusa Dua also offers visitors an extensive entertainment and theatrical area. This area includes the Bali Nusa Dua Theatre, which features spectacular stage shows including traditional Indonesian dance performances.
No trip to Nusa Dua would be complete without experiencing one of the many luxury spa treatments on offer. Salons and spas offer stone massage, Ayurvedic massage, Balinese mandi lulur/authentic massage, facials, and other health and beauty treatments.
Eating Out
Nusa Dua is a custom-designed area and most of the quality restaurants are located in the resorts themselves. For traditional Balinese cuisine, the Bumbu Bali, which opened in 1997, provides local dishes coupled with a five-star dining experience. The establishment was voted as one of the best five restaurants in the Miele Guide, Asia's independent restaurant guide, and featured in several publications about the cuisine of Bali.
Nusa Dua Hotels
Nusa Dua accommodation leans towards the luxurious, although there are a few simple, mid-range resorts which offer moderate amenities at affordable prices. Private villas with 24-hour butler service are also available. Families are also catered to, with some resorts including kid's clubs, large playgrounds, and childcare services. All-inclusive packages are available from many of the resorts. There really are no cheap hotels in Nusa Dua, and travellers on a tighter budget are advised to book accommodation in one of the towns near the resort, such as Kuta or Legian.
