For a delightful walk into entertainment history, follow the Hollywood Walk of Fame for 18 blocks along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street. The sidewalk is embedded with over 2000 pink, five-pointed stars bearing the names of entertainers and fictional characters. These stars honour radio, TV, and stage performers, directors, singers, songwriters, as well as movie actors.
The pink stars on The Hollywood Walk of Fame are rimmed with bronze and contain a symbol indicating the field in which the entertainer worked. The five symbols are a movie camera, television set, phonograph, radio microphone and comedy-tragedy mask. These represent movies, TV, music, radio and live theatre respectively.
