The Cheaperthanhotels Global Knowledge Fund aims to help students and academics attend events, symposiums and conferences in their field in other cities and countries by providing a rebate for any booking made through our website.
Cheaperthanhotels acknowledges the importance of research, education and sharing of knowledge amongst the academic community and individuals across countries as incredibly important for today’s society and our future. As such, to make it more affordable for anyone to travel for this purpose, we are offering a rebate of 60% of our earnings (which is equivalent to 5 – 10% of what you pay) on all eligible individual Cheaperthanhotels Bookings.
Who Can Benefit From this?
Students & Academic Staff Attending University Events
If you are attending a conference, symposium or event related to your field of study or university activities and stay in accommodation booked with Cheaperthanhotels whilst attending, then you are eligible to claim a rebate of 60% of our earnings.
Conference Organisers
If you are involved in organizing a conference or University event then you too can claim for any individual who has not claimed themselves. Event organizers submitting a group claim will receive a rebate of 70% of our earnings. All we ask is that you place a link to us on your site to let your attendees and delegates know about our accommodation booking service.
How To Claim?
To claim the rebate, just log into the members area, complete the claim form and email the relevant supporting documents. You will need your Cheaperthanhotels Booking ID Number (which you will receive after you have completed your booking) and verification of your event attendance, such as a copy of your registration receipt or accreditation pass.
We will send you a cheque or make deposit via paypal within 60 days of your hotel check out date. Please take note of the conditions before making your claim.
Conditions:
- The name on your Cheaperthanhotels Booking must match that of your verification of your conference attendance.
- The booking claimed for must match the dates and location of the event attended.
- The Minimum claim amount for individuals is booking value of US$150 (equivalent to GBP 100, EUR 110, AUD 160, NZD 200).
- The minimum claim amount for group or conference organizer claims is combined booking value of USD $1000 (equivalent to GBP650, EUR 750 , AUD $1100, NZD $1350)
- Claims must be made within 3 months of checkout
- Claims will not be processed until after your checkout date and it may take upto 60 days for you to receive the rebate.
